TAp63α is a protein isoform of the p63 gene, which is a member of the p53 family of transcription factors. p63 is involved in various cellular processes, including development, cell cycle regulation, and apoptosis.

TAp63α has been implicated in cancer development and progression. It is often overexpressed in various types of cancer, including breast, lung, and head and neck cancers. The overexpression of TAp63α has been associated with poor prognosis and aggressive tumor behavior.

In multiple cancers, lower expression of the tumor‐suppressive TAp63α isoform tends to correlate with a more aggressive clinical course and poorer overall survival.
