Type:
NAIP (Neuronal Apoptosis Inhibitory Protein) is a member of the inhibitors of apoptosis (IAP) family and is implicated in the regulation of cell death, as well as in innate immune responses.

NAIP is primarily known for its ability to inhibit apoptosis by interfering with caspase activation, which helps cells survive under stress conditions.

In some cancers, elevated NAIP levels may contribute to tumor cell survival by inhibiting apoptosis, thereby supporting tumor progression.
Conversely, in other settings, NAIP expression might be part of an innate immune response activated within the tumor, which could have implications for anti-tumor immunity.
