| miR-375 is a regulatory microRNA that generally functions as a tumour suppressor in head-and-neck and HPV-associated squamous cell carcinomas. It can suppress oncogenic transcripts involved in proliferation, survival, invasion, and extracellular-matrix degradation, including AEG-1/MTDH, IGF1R, JAK2, and YAP1. miR-375 may also directly or indirectly reduce HPV16/18 E6 and E7 expression, thereby supporting p53 and RB tumour- suppressor activity. miR-375 is frequently downregulated in these cancers; therefore, restoration or increased expression is generally considered the favourable direction in this context. Effects may differ by cancer type. |
| Osteosarcoma is a type of cancer that starts in the bones. It is the most common type of bone cancer, and it usually affects children and young adults, although it can occur at any age. Osteosarcoma typically develops in the long bones of the body, such as the arms and legs, but it can also occur in other bones, including the pelvis and jaw. |
