Function: CXCL15 is a mouse CXC chemokine expressed particularly strongly by lung epithelial cells. It is secreted into airway spaces and functions as a chemoattractant for neutrophils, contributing to pulmonary inflammatory responses, innate immune-cell recruitment, and lung-specific immune signaling.

Experimental Interpretation:CXCL15 generally indicates increased pulmonary chemokine signaling and neutrophil recruitment in mouse models. Because humans do not have a confirmed direct CXCL15 ortholog, results should not be assigned directly to a human CXCL15 target.
