MMPs Cancer Research Results

MMPs, Matrix metalloproteinases: Click to Expand ⟱
Source:
Type:
Family of zinc-dependent proteolytic enzymes that play a key role in degrading the extracellular matrix (ECM).; are metalloproteinases that are calcium-dependent zinc-containing endopeptidases;[1] other family members are adamalysins, serralysins, and astacins. The MMPs belong to a larger family of proteases known as the metzincin superfamily.[2]
MMP secretion: matrix metalloproteinase (MMP) is a kind of enzymes secreted.
by tumor cell to degrade ECM, facilitating the migration of tumor cells.

MMPs are generally considered protumorigenic due to their role in promoting tumor invasion, metastasis, and angiogenesis. They facilitate the breakdown of the extracellular matrix, allowing cancer cells to invade surrounding tissues and spread to distant sites.

6079- CHL,    Chlorophyllin Modulates Gut Microbiota and Inhibits Intestinal Inflammation to Ameliorate Hepatic Fibrosis in Mice
- in-vivo, Nor, NA
*eff↑, oral administration of chlorophyllin could attenuate intestinal and hepatic inflammation and ameliorate liver fibrosis.
*GutMicro↑, oral administration of chlorophyllin promptly rebalanced the gut microbiota, exhibiting down-regulation of the phylum Firmicutes and up-regulation of the phylum Bacteroidetes.
*NF-kB↓, chlorophyllin exposure could inhibit NF-κB pathway via IKK-phosphorylation suppression.
*MMPs↑, Chlorophyllin Treatment Increased the MMP/TIMP Ratio, Which May Promote Fibrolysis and Resolving Liver Fibrosis
*TIMP1↓,
*Inflam↓, Exposure of Intestinal Epithelial Cells With Chlorophyllin Can Attenuate Inflammatory Signaling Pathways
*Dysb↓, Dysbiosis Occurring in Liver Fibrosis Can Be Rebalanced by Oral Administration of Chlorophyllin for Eubiosis

1792- CUR,  LEC,    Chondroprotective effect of curcumin and lecithin complex in human chondrocytes stimulated by IL-1β via an anti-inflammatory mechanism
- in-vitro, Arthritis, RAW264.7 - NA, NA, HCC-38
*Inflam↓, curcumin is well known to regulate anti-inflammatory effects, primarily through the deactivation of NF-κB
*NF-kB↓,
*iNOS↓, 10 and 20 μM, complex also suppressed iNOS and COX-2 mRNA expression and inhibited NO and PGE2 production
*COX2↓,
*NO↓,
*PGE2↓,
*MMPs↑, 10 and 20 μM of the complex (Fig. 2A, B, and C). IL-1β noticeably upregulated the production of MMP-1, 2, 3, 9, and 13 and TIMP-1 compared to the control group
*TIMP1↑,
*BioEnh↑, In this study, the complex of curcumin and lecithin enhanced bioavailability of curcumin resulting in chondroprotective effect at relatively lower concentrations.

3480- MF,    Cellular and Molecular Effects of Magnetic Fields
- Review, NA, NA
ROS↑, 50 Hz, 1 mT for 24/48/72 h SH-SY5Y (neuroblastoma Significantly increased ROS levels
*Ca+2↑, There is experimental proof that extremely low-frequency (ELF-MF) magnetic fields interact with Ca2+ channels, leading to increased Ca2+ efflux
*Inflam↓, PEMF stimulates the anti-inflammatory response of mesenchymal stem cells.
*Akt↓, nasopharyngeal carcinoma cell line. Potentially, these alterations were caused by inhibition of the Akt/mTOR signaling pathway
*mTOR↓,
selectivity↑, Ashdown and colleagues observed disruptions in the human lung cancer cell line after PMF (20 mT) exposure; in comparison, normal cells were insensitive to PMF
*memory↑, Ahmed and colleagues proved that PMF has an impact on the hippocampus, the brain region responsible for spatial orientation and memory acquisition.
*MMPs↑, In wound closure, epithelial cells, connective tissue cells, and immune cells, which promote collagen production, matrix metalloproteinase activity, growth factor release (e.g., VEGF, FGF, PDGF, TNF, HGF, and IL-1), and inflammatory environment pro
