Type:
BRD4 (Bromodomain-containing protein 4) is a BET epigenetic reader that binds acetylated histones, organizes enhancer/super-enhancer transcriptional programs, and promotes transcriptional elongation of growth and survival genes such as MYC. In cancer it is generally pro-oncogenic, supporting proliferation, cell-state maintenance, and therapy resistance.
