<span class="wphighlight">ATOX1</span> is a copper chaperone that delivers copper to ATP7A/ATP7B. In cancer, increased <span class="wphighlight">ATOX1</span> is generally pro-cancer because it can support copper-dependent migration, angiogenesis-related signaling, proliferation, and resistance to platinum drugs such as cisplatin. <span class="wphighlight">ATOX1</span> inhibition or knockdown can reduce migration and tumor growth in some models, but effects are context-dependent because <span class="wphighlight">ATOX1</span> is also needed for normal copper homeostasis.<br>
