HSL/LIPE Cancer Research Results

HSL/LIPE, Hormone-sensitive lipase: Click to Expand ⟱
Source:
Type:

HSL is a lipolytic enzyme encoded by LIPE. It hydrolyzes stored lipid intermediates, especially diacylglycerol, releasing fatty acids for oxidation or signalling. In cancer, HSL can either supply fatty acids that support tumour metabolism or participate in lipid homeostasis that restrains abnormal lipid accumulation. Its expression and activity vary substantially by tumour type, so there is no reliable universal direction.
