| CD19 - CD19 Molecule / B-Lymphocyte Antigen CD19 Type: B-cell surface receptor / co-receptor / therapeutic tumor antigen Function: Transmembrane glycoprotein expressed primarily on B-lineage cells that functions as part of the B-cell receptor co-receptor complex. CD19 amplifies B-cell receptor signaling and regulates B-cell activation, proliferation, differentiation, and immune responses. Cancer: ↑ Highly expressed on the majority of B-cell leukemias and lymphomas and serves as a major therapeutic tumor-associated antigen. CD19 is targeted by CAR-T cells, bispecific antibodies, and other antibody-based therapies. Loss or downregulation of CD19 can permit antigen escape and relapse following CD19-directed treatment. |
