| circNAV3 - Circular RNA Derived from NAV3 Specific ID: hsa_circ_0008509 Type: Circular non-coding RNA / post-transcriptional regulator Function: circNAV3 is a circular RNA generated from the NAV3 genomic locus. In triple-negative breast cancer, circNAV3 can function as a competing endogenous RNA by sequestering miR-4262, thereby increasing ST6GALNAC5 expression. Increased ST6GALNAC5 promotes sialylation and activation of EGFR signaling, contributing to tumor growth, angiogenesis, and metastatic behavior. Cancer: ↑ Increased circNAV3 has been identified in triple-negative breast cancer brain metastases and is associated with unfavorable clinical outcome. Experimental overexpression promotes tumorigenesis, angiogenesis, and brain metastasis through the circNAV3/miR-4262/ST6GALNAC5/EGFR signaling axis. Suppression of circNAV3 inhibits these metastatic effects. |
