PRDM1, also known as PR domain containing 1, with ZNF domain, is a gene that encodes a protein involved in various cellular processes, including differentiation, development, and immune response.
PRDM1 has been studied for its dual role as a tumor suppressor and, in some cases, as an oncogene.

PRDM1 is a critical transcription factor whose normal function is associated with cell differentiation and the shutdown of proliferative programs. In several B-cell malignancies, PRDM1 is frequently altered by mutations or reduced expression, and these changes are generally associated with a worse prognosis—supporting its role as a tumor suppressor. In other cancers, the patterns of expression and functional consequences appear more variable, underscoring the need for further research to fully understand its context-specific roles in tumorigenesis.
