The Insulin/IR pathway is a major regulator of liver cells growth.
The pathway begins when insulin binds to the insulin receptor (IR), a transmembrane receptor that is part of the receptor tyrosine kinase family.
The insulin receptor pathway is a critical signaling pathway that regulates various cellular processes, including glucose metabolism, cell growth, and differentiation.

Negative Prognosis: In many cancers, overactivation of the insulin receptor pathway is associated with increased tumor aggressiveness, proliferation, and poorer overall survival. High levels of insulin or insulin receptor expression can correlate with worse clinical outcomes.
