FOXM1 transcription factor is a regulator of a broad range of biological processes. Elevated and deregulated FOXM1 expression is found in a wide spectrum of cancers. FOXM1 also plays a central role in cancer initiation, progression and anti-cancer drug resistance. FOXM1 is repeatedly overexpressed in a variety of human cancers.
High FOXM1 expression is associated with aggressive tumor characteristics and poor overall survival. FOXM1 is generally considered a marker of poor prognosis across various cancer types.
